Irish Orienteering Championships 2026

The Irish Orienteering Championships moves to the south of the island over the May Bank Holiday Weekend to the beautiful Sheep's Head Peninsula in County Cork.

Saturday 2nd May: Middle Distance

Sunday 3rd May: Classic Distance

Monday 4th May: Relay

In the interests of fair competition, these areas are deemed out of bounds between now and the competition date

Spring has sprung on the Sheep's Head and the daffodils are out early! After a wet few weeks, it was a relief to visit our parking field today to find it is not retaining water!

We will be announcing preliminary travel details soon, but for now we can say that we are planning to use Durrus as our base for the weekend and shuttle people to/from the races. When entering the competition, we ask that you share information about your travel and accommodation plans to help us with logistics.
