The Sheep’s Head boasts an unspoilt natural landscape with stunning coastal views. It has has been recognised as a European Destination of Excellence. It is home to the Sheep's Head Way, a long-distanced waymarked way. The main trail is 146km long, with an additional 37 loop and linear walks over 300km.
The main villages of the Sheep's Head are Durrus, Ahakista and Kilcrohane.
The nearest big town is Bantry, 10km from Durrus , whilst on the Mizen peninsula, Schull is 15kms from Durrus.
